Stephan Evans was born and raised in Denver, attending Manual High before attending college on both basketball and academic scholarships (he led the Manual team to three city championships) and starting a family with his high school sweetheart.  In the late Sixties he joined the Denver chapter of the Black Panther Party, and went on to 25 years as a successful florist and small business owner before twice running for Mayor of Denver.

Evans earned his nickname “Chairman Seku” from the leaders of local gangs while conducting an event from a chair to promote non-violence in the local community. He has been nominated for prestigious community service awards.

Chairman Seku is now seeking the Unity Party’s 2020 nomination for US Senator from Colorado.
